only reason why im not buying ff13 is because of the fighting system. i think the turn-based or whatever its called is garbage, the most fun part in games is the gameplay then story, not other way around.
OMG!!! Are you serious?! Are you comparing this to Final Fantasy XIII?! Are you blind?! FF13 looks way way better than this! Fan or no fan, it's so obvious.!.
I have no idea what's going on in this video, but the combat looks like a nice change of pace from all the swords and sorcery. tri-Ace always has unique combat systems...hopefully I can make sense of this one once there's an English demo/tutorial.
The graphics look really well done. Hard to tell just by looking what the gameplay will be like. I'll have to wait for the review. Well, just so they can tell me about the gameplay. I ignore whatever 'number' gamespot gives for their reviews a long time ago.
Maybe I missed something but I don't remember seeing any melee combat. Jumping around like Jackie Chan all game but never hitting anyone would be ridiculous and 1 dimensional.
oh snap, this kinda sets me back to PE with the whole real-time + guns. PE was such a good series, so sad to see it die way back in the day. But anyway, this looks promising, but wonder how it's going to do with FF coming a little before this?
game looks fun. it'll be nice to get this around the same time as FF13. Im sure that they'll have other weapons but even if not im sure they'll have something along the way to refresh the battles. Its good to know Sega still has tricks in its sleeves (Bayonetta and Valkyria Chronicles were beautiful). I wonder if they'll enter the system creation business again.
@clqtte - I hope so too. Trying to shoot enemies 2ft. in front of you seemed a little bit forced. I really hoped they incorporated some melee and hand-to-hand combat in the game. It will go a long way to enhance the gameplay experience.
Feels Valkyrie Profile 2 with guns.... semi-real time plus leader take-down. But I really hope that what's shown here isn't all there is to it. I mean, it only shows three weapon types and all three characters has the same move set.... The couldn't be the end of it, could it?
why are people even complaining people act like the game is already out. even if the game is really good somone always has to find something to complain about
I played the japonese demo and I was waiting for more... the 1st battle I played it was really cool but I end up making always the same thing... The game is too must repetitive. I don't know if it's gonna be a good game... =(
i agree with swordemperor even though its a long way off, i've got final fantasy 13, dark void, darksiders, mass effect 2 and no more heroes 2 desperate struggle to keep me preoccupied
looks interesting, but i think I can see some flaws A) with the battle controls and B) that it looks kinda desolate + deserted (like the 3D castlevania games or chaos legion or something like that). I could be completely wrong in my assumptions though (here's hoping) Also the environment textures don't look anything to shout about going by this video
Whoaaaaa......Looks epic! Can't wait for this one. Not sure how the battle system works, though. You select someone to attack, and then get more precise about where in real time, and it creates a cinematic sequence for it, I'm guessing? Visuals look amazing, too. Bonus!
John Woo..... Well the action is great, not too over the top. Wonder about the weapons - no pistol whip for close encounters, how about weapon changes? Be cool to have a sniper or heavy weapons scenarios
it's so weird seeing all characters with guns.. and in an RPG game.. ?? that's the weirdest game so far.. but it looks nice. i'll definitely try this out.!! ^_^
It is a 3ps rpg hybrid. You can attack in real time, and the invincible action thing allows you to attack without being hurt, and that carries on as a little cutscene where the character does some fancy move while shooting. Looks interesting, I hope the gameplay isn't shallow.
